LÚ is a craft fermentation company based in North West Clare, dedicated to exploring and sharing the myriad flavours of fermented foods and drinks. We produce specially crafted products and provide catered food and drinks experiences, exploring a wide range of fermentation processes from around the world.
To connect more with fermented foods and drinks is to create more profound taste experiences, improve digestion and overall gut health, live in better balance with indigenous food systems, use less energy, and expand our perceptions on the possibilities of food creativity. LÚ Fermentation recently made the move down from the hills of Liscannor Bay to a new location, upstairs in Pot Duggans on the Main Street of Ennistymon. This beautiful building, a three storied vernacular shop/pub dating back to the late 18th, early 19th century was previously Nan Ahern’s pub, a well known landmark in the market town of Ennistymon and the home of the Ahern family.
The new brewery is being installed on the top floor of the main building, directly above the Pots wine bar which stocks bottled LÚ products and provides additional fermented options on tap.
